The People of oneninefive: Jordan Adams

The People of ONF is a content series that showcases the interesting, creative and all-round cool people that make up oneninefive.

Let’s get to know Jordan..

When did you join ONF? 3 years ago, employee number 1. A coffee table as my office was calling and we built it from there.

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at ONF? That a concept that I gambled everything to make work, worked.
That and the people – I’m now less surprised now, but more proud. Our formula of giving people with a good attitude, the platform to shine, continues to move everything forward in a brilliantly inspiring way.

What led you to this industry? They say that you don’t choose sales, sales chooses you. I think that might be true in my case.
I don’t think my character would work in an environment that isn’t a million miles an hour and solving problems all day. Plus the people in our industry are great, I’m truly passionate about B2B and feel all the truly great principals of sales & marketing come from the sector.

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work? My 2-year-old daughter would certainly tick both boxes. Teaching her new things is both a hobby and a passion… Music is huge in our house, it’s never silent. I used to DJ and whilst I don’t get as much time, I still have my record & turntables set up in our living room. Aston Villa, reading ‘business’ books, cooking all part of day to day. Currently learning backgammon (the game of kings apparently).

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day? Doing bath time with my daughter, before cooking dinner for my wife. Nice bottle(s) of wine to go with. Long family walk with our labrador, sunday papers, roast dinner and a glass of Malbec is the feeling I’d take every day of the week..

What did you want to be when you were younger? Footballer for Aston Villa. Given their current plight, I’m still convinced I’ve got a shot.

What trend do you hope makes a comeback? I’m old enough to have seen it all come full circle; music, clothes, food. No phones in nightclubs / concerts would be a good start. Where’s the vibe gone?

What’s a trip that changed you, and why? Trip to Cheltenham, 1st November, 2014. Came back married.

Quick Fire Q’s

What are you watching on Netflix right now? Narcos, Hip Hop evolution, Top Boy. Looking forward to series 2 of ‘Sunderland till I die’. With a 2 year old, we take the approach of turning films into box sets. The film Operation Odessa took us 3 weeks to complete.

What’s one song that you’re embarrassed to admit you like? Pretty much anything by Simply Red. Mick Hucknell has a few stories to tell from the 90’s…

What’s one song that isn’t played enough? Sweet Caroline, Neil Diamond.

Sand or Snow? Which would you prefer to holiday? Sand for the warmth. However, lay on beach all day would be my idea of a nightmare. Relaxing in the sun, yes, sand in every crevice no…

How do you like your eggs? With a smile and a kiss…

One meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Steak & Kidney pie, chips, mushy peas (possibly battered sausage on the side)

The People of oneninefive: Tim Nagle

The People of ONF is a content series that showcases the interesting, creative and all-round cool people that make up oneninefive.

Let’s get to know Tim..

When did you join ONF? 2018

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at ONF? That office scenarios don’t need to be beset with office politics, managing internal stakeholders, and gossip.. Was brilliantly refreshing to come to an organisation where everyone is treated with the same mutual respect and decency, and are given the same opportunities.

What led you to this industry? I graduated with a Politics degree a few years back, and at the time saw a career ahead in that. I essentially landed in B2B via an environmental services company, but since have continued to be amazed by some of the brilliant, innovative thinkers at the heart of this industry. Amid this, the pace of change is brilliant, and should keep all of us on our toes at all times.

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work? Back in t’ day I was a reasonably proficient musician, with tastes across electronic, jazz, rock.. (this is sounding dangerously like the response to a Hinge question). I’m making the most of the extra hours in the day by dusting off my musical gears! Otherwise, often spend Saturdays (pre-quarantine) enjoying the delights of south London’s greatest non-league football team – Dulwich Hamlet

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day? Cold lager

How are you adjusting to the working from home lifestyle? Any tips on how to stay productive? I’ve found the key is to have variety over your location. Spending a whole day sat in the same room, staring at your computer, can get tiring.. I’ve found a great way to stay productive is to take calls in different rooms of the house, and just spend some time doing work that doesn’t involve staring at my PC.

What trend do you hope makes a comeback? Heelies

What did you want to be when you were younger? A tech marketer operating in the B2B demand gen space (one day I might make it..)

What’s a trip that changed you, and why? The Trip – starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon

Quick Fire Q’s

What are you watching on Netflix right now? Fireplace for the home (if you know, you know)

What’s one song that you’re embarrassed to admit you like? Robbie Williams – Feel (live at Knebworth)

What’s one song that isn’t played enough? Robbie Williams – Feel (live at Knebworth)

Sand or Snow? Which would you prefer to holiday? Sand

One meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? The £4 curry box from the Shoreditch Stop on Great Eastern Street

How do you like your eggs? In the morning

It’s going to be fun!”

Lauren Sandiford, Campaign Manager, states;

The People of oneninefive: Kevin Ellis

The People of ONF is a content series that showcases the interesting, creative and all-round cool people that make up oneninefive.

Let’s get to know Kev..

When did you join ONF? January 2020

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at ONF? It’s cheesy but the individual talent of everyone in the company.

What led you to this industry? I didn’t choose leads, leads chose me.

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work? I love getting injured.

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day? Although it seems like a luxury that’s so far away right now you can’t beat a cold beer in a beer garden as the sun sets (If my better half reads this it’s obviously spending time with my family).

What did you want to be when you were younger? A surgeon!

How are you adjusting to the working from home lifestyle? Any tips on how to stay productive? In a bitter turn of irony, ever since we’ve been on lock down the sun has been beaming. Starting the day with a coffee in the garden has been a perfect kick off to the day.

What trend do you hope makes a comeback? Platform shoes… I wouldn’t mind being a few inches taller.

What’s a trip that changed you, and why? Is this question related to a holiday or a downfall?

Quick Fire Q’s

What are you watching on Netflix right now? On BBC iPlayer I’m currently watching Noughts & Crosses which is a story set in a pre/post apartheid regime but where the racial roles we’re used to have been swapped.

What’s one song that you’re embarrassed to admit you like? I’m very embarrassed to say one of the first cassettes I ever bought was Billie Piper – Because We Want To…

What’s one song that isn’t played enough? Mary Clark – Take Me I’m Yours. Whether you do or don’t know it, find the 7 minute version on YouTube now, crank it up and get your hips and shoulders moving!

Sand or Snow? Which would you prefer to holiday? I’ve never had a snow holiday. Give me a snorkel, some flippers, a warm sea and I’m off.

How do you like your eggs? Scrambled, as long as they’re not over cooked and dry.

One meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? It’s boring but probably steak, rare please.

How interactive whitepapers can drive better leads

Is content still king? Yes. Is some content better than others? Still Yes. In an age where attention spans are decreasing and behavioral data is coming more to the fore, the idea of interactivity is becoming ever more important. Not to mention, with 40%+ of B2B marketers looking to spend more time/money on content in 2020 it’s becoming increasingly important to stand out from the rest.

Outbound demand generation works by creating a complete set of content — usually consisting of an email and a landing page — to promote a given asset. As one might expect, the derived content is only as good as the original content. The quality of content can also vary and depending on how your audience engages with it can result in the quality of the leads varying as well. It has to be clear, concise and engaging, especially in the world of demand generation where often content is “fluffed up” or made over complicated in order to appear more interesting.

So yes content is important, and in the demand generation world it comes in many formats. Standard whitepapers are great, and so are ebooks and video, but with limited interactivity, it’s often hard for people to remain engaged. That’s where interactive whitepapers come in, which are now essential creative assets in driving leads down the sales funnel and improving prospect engagement. Not only are they dynamic and visually stimulating but they also allow us to develop rich profile data around participants, study read through rates, and much more, something lacking in more traditional forms of content. On top of this, Interactive questions lead to more engaged prospects whilst also providing valuable information.

All in all, if delivered correctly and to the appropriate audience interactive whitepapers can lead to more engaged and far better quality leads. Check out some of our interactive content examples here.

The People of oneninefive: Emma Laing

The People of ONF is a content series that showcases the interesting, creative and all-round cool people that make up oneninefive.

Let’s get to know Emma..

When did you join ONF? September 2018.

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at ONF? How often we all move desks/offices! Think I’ve had about 14 different desks within 2 offices.

What led you to this industry? A Linkedin add! I knew I wanted to work in marketing however, had never really heard of demand gen – think Jordan rated my knowledge a 2/10 post-interview!

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work? I love to try and be creative and really enjoy visiting new places whether in the UK or travelling abroad (not at the moment though!)

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day? The sensible answer would be a run or walk out in the fresh air but realistically it is a glass of wine!

What did you want to be when you were younger? Leona Lewis’ backing singer.. I had very high aspirations for myself clearly!

How are you adjusting to the working from home lifestyle? Any tips on how to stay productive? It’s been a slow adjustment as for the first week or so it hadn’t hit me this was the reality for the foreseeable but I’m getting in a groove now. My main tip would be to try and stick to a routine and make yourself get dressed and ready for the day so you can differentiate between day/night, week/weekend!

What trend do you hope makes a comeback? Office working! WFH is great and all for a bit of change out the other side of Covid-19 but I miss my team!

What’s a trip that changed you, and why? I visited Sri Lanka and India April/May 2018 and their way of life really encouraged me to go vegan. 2 years on, I’m now a bit more flexible and probably lean closer to a vegetarian but am still so interested in the health and environmental benefits of eating less meat.

Quick Fire Q’s

What are you watching on Netflix right now? Late to the party probably but I’ve just finished The Stranger – amazing!

What’s one song that you’re embarrassed to admit you like? No shame on my awful taste in music!

What’s one song that isn’t played enough? Any Westlife song…

Sand or Snow? Which would you prefer to holiday? Ooooh bit of both?! Few days snow then a few more days sand! But if I had to choose one, probbaly sand (minus the part when you get sand in your bed)

One meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Fish and chips in newspaper with an endless supply of mayonnaise!

How do you like your eggs? Dippy eggs and marmite soldiers always!

29th May 2020

The People of oneninefive: Lauren Sims

The People of ONF is a content series that showcases the interesting, creative and all-round cool people that make up oneninefive.

Let’s get to know Lauren..

When did you join ONF? March 2nd 2020

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at ONF? Everyone’s passion to do well and support each other. It’s a really nice environment to work in and makes you feel encouraged to try something new and suggest new ideas. Everyone wants the business and each other to do well, there’s a real sense of community and all working towards the same goals.

What led you to this industry? Re-located to London and decided to try something new. Always been in Digital Marketing but wanted to broaden out to Demand Generation.

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work? I play hockey.. currently looking for a new team in London, so if anyone is looking for a midfielder who is more interested in the social aspect than the score, hit me up!

What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day? Is wine an acceptable answer?

What did you want to be when you were younger? I wanted to be a vet, and then discovered I faint at the sight of blood so that dream was short-lived. I also wanted to be a speech therapist, something I’m still considering in later life if I can ever muster the courage to go back to education!

How are you adjusting to the working from home lifestyle? Any tips on how to stay productive? Regular breaks and making the most of one lot of exercise a day. Also making sure to talk to colleagues about things other than work, like you would in the office. I’ve also found trying to make my ‘home’ desk resemble my ‘work’ desk as much as possible is helping me get into a work mode! Hand cream and lip balm are desk essentials for me haha

What trend do you hope makes a comeback? Rollerblading! How cool would that be to see everyone rollerblading to work in London!

What’s a trip that changed you, and why? Travelling round South East Asia straight out of uni, we had barely any money and no plan, just got on a plane to Bangkok and winged the whole 3 weeks! Somehow managed to explore some of Thailand, Bali and Malaysia! We missed flights and buses and boats, and it was a disaster from start to finish but it was amazing! It was my first experience outside of western civilization, and showed me a way to see the world without always having to take six months off to do so. By not having a plan we saw places based on recommendations and where others were going, we might not have seen these places if we were a little more organised! ‘Going with the flow’ was defo the vibe of the trip and its taught me how I enjoy to travel and has helped with many travelling adventures after that one!

Quick Fire Q’s

What are you watching on Netflix right now? Currently nothing, recommendations welcome! However my go to is always re-watching Gossip Girl, such a classic!

What’s one song that you’re embarrassed to admit you like? Justin Bieber – Intentions – sooooo cheesey!!

What’s one song that isn’t played enough? One Direction – What makes you beautiful!

Sand or Snow? Which would you prefer to holiday? Sand!

How do you like your eggs? Fried in a bacon sandwich

One meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? This is really hard! Can my meal be three courses?! Starter – baked Camembert. Main – Spag bol or chicken pie or maybe chicken nuggets! Dessert – chocolate brownie and ice cream
