The People of oneninefive: Rosie Broad

The People of ONF is a content series that showcases the interesting, creative and all-round cool people that make up oneninefive.

Let’s get to know Rosie..

What’s your name? Rosie Broad – if we’re talking technicalities Rosemary, haha

When did you join ONF? September 2020

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at ONF? That everyone is such a family – the whole company is invested in your success and wants you to succeed. It really is an all-for-one culture.

What led you to this industry? It was actually not an industry I’ve worked in before, I came from a varied background from education to finance! I was initially attracted to oneninefive because of their company culture – hiring on attitude and training for skill! The industry at the moment has been so interesting and I’m learning a lot!

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work? I’m super active and adventurous so usually, I would say I’m most likely off exploring somewhere new! My weekends are usually filled with seeing friends and traveling, obviously recently this has been more difficult but I’ve been exploring my new home in London. In 2022 a group of friends and I are looking to climb Kilimajaro so I expect a lot of my weekends will be hiking!

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day? This is probably a very unpopular opinion but a really hard workout – it just makes me feel so much better and gives me a hour of me time! It probably is then followed swiftly by a G&T, haha.

What did you want to be when you were younger? An Olympic athlete, or a vet – I didn’t quite do either, haha!

How are you finding the work from anywhere lifestyle? I go through stages with it, as the world isn’t quite ready for us to actually work from anywhere just yet I’m finding the work from home life a little monotonous! I’m excited to actually work from anywhere, the office, a coffee shop, the park – I’m excited about the variety. When I first joined and everything was more open I loved it, the variety of every day and being able to see my colleagues was just brilliant – I won’t take that for granted again!

What trend do you hope makes a comeback? Leaving the house socially for more than just the supermarket and a walk, haha! Come on 2021!

What’s a trip that changed you, and why? One thing everyone learns about me pretty quickly is I’ve got quite the travel bug! I’m often exploring the world so picking just one trip is so difficult! I probably have to say my long travel trip, after completing my graduate scheme I traveled around the world alone for 8 months. It really taught me so much, about myself. I’m so much braver and much more resilient than I ever even realised or given myself credit for. It taught me the value of just being yourself, it was a trip that really helped me get over some anxiety worries and to know that there are so many wonderfully special people in the world! You learn that you don’t click with everyone, and that’s totally fine, people can be (and are) different, that’s no reflection on you it’s just everyone is different. I am now lucky enough to have friends all over the world.

What are you watching on Netflix right now? On Netflix I’m watching Ozark which is so good but my evenings are very much consumed with Married at First Sight Australia at the moment – the drama!

What’s one song that you’re embarrassed to admit you like? I loooooove an old school banger – kool and the gang celebration and ABBA Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! are a played often in our house.

What’s one song that isn’t played enough? Heather Small – Proud is a regular on my playlist, it takes me right back to my competing days!

Sand or Snow? Which would you prefer to holiday? This is so hard!! I love a sunny holiday and I’ve spent a lot of the last few years in the sun but there is something about a skiing holiday – You’re with all your friends, in the mountains, with a beer in your hand – such good fun!

One meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Anything Italian – Pizza or pasta and I’d be happy

How do you like your eggs? Scambled!

4th March 2021

The People of oneninefive: Julie Price

The People of ONF is a content series that showcases the interesting, creative and all-round cool people that make up oneninefive.

Let’s get to know Julie..

What’s your name? Julie Price

When did you join ONF? November 2020

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at ONF? I was surprised by the enormous can-do attitude of everyone that works here and the ambition to get things done to drive things forward. Actually, they could be bots, I’ve never met most of them!

What led you to this industry? I wanted to move to London and media sales sounded like fun. I responded to a recruitment consultant ad in The Guardian and landed my first job and never looked back. I’m from Preston and remember my mum being shocked when I said I was renewing my annual tube pass as she thought I’d be back. That was 26 years ago!

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work? Art though I don’t do enough of it. My creativity has generally been focussed around my kids – making costumes, doing school projects with them. I’m getting back into it, but slowly.

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day? To walk along the river with one of the kids or to cook with my husband with an open bottle of red and loud music playing.

What did you want to be when you were younger? A book publisher – I did an English Lit degree and was a voracious reader through uni.

How are you finding the work from anywhere lifestyle? Starting a new job remotely isn’t ideal – the little questions you need an answer to become bigger deals in terms of interrupting other people and that can be a challenge for all – however patient they are (and they are!). I love the commute but would love even more to meet the people I see on screen everyday. I don’t have the best desk set up so can’t wait for a bit more space, but I do enjoy seeing my kids for lunch every day.

What trend do you hope makes a comeback? Having fun with my friends and family – I remember it from years ago but it seems to have gone out of fashion.

What’s a trip that changed you, and why? A ski holiday in Sweden around 4 years ago. I thought I’d left it too late to ever give skiing a go and we have 3 kids so that’s pretty expensive, but a good friend has a place and we’ve been going every year since. It taught me that a) I actually do like the cold and February has gone from my least favourite to my favourite month and b) being an OK ice skater means nothing on a ski slope. My kids despair when I wipe another family out, but hey – I’m still learning.

Quick Fire Q’s

What are you watching on Netflix right now? Mindhunter. I’m a bit late to the party on this one but it’s good. I realised a couple of nights ago that the main character plays King George in Hamilton and I can’t quite look at him in the same way, but he is incredible.

What’s one song that you’re embarrassed to admit you like? Never Enough – from The Greatest Showman. If you close your eyes when I belt that one out, you’d think she was in the room with you.

What’s one song that isn’t played enough? Sunday Candy – Chance the Rapper – heard it last night for the first time in ages and it really isn’t played enough and always makes me happy!

Sand or Snow? Which would you prefer to holiday? Snow if you ask me now, sand if you ask me in July. Sand is probably safer, and nothing nicer than a cold beer, a sun lounger and an afternoon of people watching.

One meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Thai green curry, without a doubt.

How do you like your eggs? Dippy (with soldiers).

3rd February 2021

The People of ONF is a content series that showcases the interesting, creative and all-round cool people that make up oneninefive.

Let’s get to know Steph..

When did you join ONF? July 2020 – The last few months have flown by.

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at ONF? How easily the team can persuade you to go to the pub after work and how supportive everyone is. Some serious teamwork going on behind the scenes 🙂

What led you to this industry? I have a corporate marketing background and wanted to use my skills to work on more marketing project/campaign management in the B2B industry. I also felt that there was a lot I could learn within Demand Gen and working closely with clients and partners.

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work? I’m big into traveling and I love exploring new places that I haven’t been too. City/Skii /sun holidays you name it – get me on that plane. The current climate’s made this a tad difficult though. The next on my list is central & south america.

Recently, I’ve been getting back into running as well – so a half marathon next year come at me. I also love a bit of Photography or getting lost in a book. However, you can also often find me at the pub with pals (counts as a hobby right).

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day? Meeting my mates for a girly catch up!

What did you want to be when you were younger? A psychologist..

How are you finding the work from anywhere lifestyle? I enjoy the flexibility, it’s nice having more time to exercise that you’d normally spent on the commute and I don’t miss the packed trains.

However, I’m a big people person, so I love that we can still go into the office to see the team. It’s also really helpful to still be able to work closely and learn from everyone in an office environment.

What trend do you hope makes a comeback? Roller Bladers. I’m not sure why they ever went out of fashion.

What’s a trip that changed you, and why? Moving To Australia. What started as a 3 month trip turned into 2.5 years. I saw some amazing places and met some great people. I feel really greateful to have had the opportunity.
