The People of oneninefive: Jordan Adams

The People of ONF is a content series that showcases the interesting, creative and all-round cool people that make up oneninefive.

Let’s get to know Jordan..

When did you join ONF? 3 years ago, employee number 1. A coffee table as my office was calling and we built it from there.

What’s one thing that surprised you about working at ONF? That a concept that I gambled everything to make work, worked.
That and the people – I’m now less surprised now, but more proud. Our formula of giving people with a good attitude, the platform to shine, continues to move everything forward in a brilliantly inspiring way.

What led you to this industry? They say that you don’t choose sales, sales chooses you. I think that might be true in my case.
I don’t think my character would work in an environment that isn’t a million miles an hour and solving problems all day. Plus the people in our industry are great, I’m truly passionate about B2B and feel all the truly great principals of sales & marketing come from the sector.

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work? My 2-year-old daughter would certainly tick both boxes. Teaching her new things is both a hobby and a passion… Music is huge in our house, it’s never silent. I used to DJ and whilst I don’t get as much time, I still have my record & turntables set up in our living room. Aston Villa, reading ‘business’ books, cooking all part of day to day. Currently learning backgammon (the game of kings apparently).

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day? Doing bath time with my daughter, before cooking dinner for my wife. Nice bottle(s) of wine to go with. Long family walk with our labrador, sunday papers, roast dinner and a glass of Malbec is the feeling I’d take every day of the week..

What did you want to be when you were younger? Footballer for Aston Villa. Given their current plight, I’m still convinced I’ve got a shot.

What trend do you hope makes a comeback? I’m old enough to have seen it all come full circle; music, clothes, food. No phones in nightclubs / concerts would be a good start. Where’s the vibe gone?

What’s a trip that changed you, and why? Trip to Cheltenham, 1st November, 2014. Came back married.

Quick Fire Q’s

What are you watching on Netflix right now? Narcos, Hip Hop evolution, Top Boy. Looking forward to series 2 of ‘Sunderland till I die’. With a 2 year old, we take the approach of turning films into box sets. The film Operation Odessa took us 3 weeks to complete.

What’s one song that you’re embarrassed to admit you like? Pretty much anything by Simply Red. Mick Hucknell has a few stories to tell from the 90’s…

What’s one song that isn’t played enough? Sweet Caroline, Neil Diamond.

Sand or Snow? Which would you prefer to holiday? Sand for the warmth. However, lay on beach all day would be my idea of a nightmare. Relaxing in the sun, yes, sand in every crevice no…

How do you like your eggs? With a smile and a kiss…

One meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Steak & Kidney pie, chips, mushy peas (possibly battered sausage on the side)
